WHAT'S COMING UP IN FUTURE ISSUES OF DFM

Here we take a look at the content for future issues.

Graph Database Technology

Attackers examine how your assets are connected, looking for a vulnerable part of the network, and navigating via methods such as “spear phishing.” What they’re really doing is abstracting out the graph of your networked systems, which is the set of security dependencies.

Fraudulent Use of Digital Images and Detection Survey

This article looks at the basic concepts related to image forgery; the types, detection procedure algorithms and all possible techniques to detect malicious signatures including a comparative analysis based on forgery types and detection techniques.

Together we are Better

This feature article is all about how technology has transformed the way investigations are conducted today, including the unique challenges that are now faced by digital intelligence experts in both the public and private sectors. Reflecting on 17+ years of experience in this field the author discusses the opportunities these sectors have to learn from each other.

Time – Quantum & Atomic Clocks

Time is an ever-present element of Digital Forensics and regular author Richard Carbone takes a look at the emergence of the Quantum Clock. The article will explore the background and concepts involved in both quantum and atomic clocks and look at the importance of time to a digital investigation and how this might be impacted with the use of quantum timing along with the potential for malicious exploitation.

A Wireshark Framework to Reduce MTTD (Mean Time to Detection).

This article explores a general framework to customize Wireshark to effectively use the tool in a variety of use cases which include but not limited to abnormal application behaviour analysis, detection of malware traffic and TCP sequence number analysis. Furthermore, it will discuss the pro and cons of using network TAPS in conjunction with Wireshark.

News & Updates

This is where we keep you up to date on developments of note that happened over the previous period.

Plus all our usual features "From The Lab", "360", "IRQ" and "Legal news and alerts".
